Dickens' London, where so many of his great novels take place. Visit the London sites brought to life in Oliver Twist and A Christmas Carol. See the churchyard which inspired Dickens' St Ghastly Grim in The Uncommercial Traveller, Fagin's haunts, Scrooge's City of London, Fleet Street, St Paul's Cathedral and the site of Newgate Prison.

The Charles Dickens Museum in London, on the road where he lived from 1837-1839. See Dickens’ original manuscripts, letters to friends and family and rare first editions of his most famous works. Also see his personal possession, from his hairbrush, walking stick and only surviving suit, to portraits and photographs made during his lifetime.
Historic Rochester, his home town, where Oliver Twist's Nancy gives us a guided tour of the many locations famous in his novels. Including Rochester Cathedral, a place of Christian worship since AD604.
'The Making of Mr Dickens' in Rochester Guildhall Museum. Enjoy an exciting and immersive journey through Dickens’ life in Medway.
Eastgate House with Dickens' Swiss Chalet in the grounds and Gadshill Place, where he lived until he died.
The Kent countryside and churches which inspired him, including his parish church at Higham.
Cooling marshes, the inspiration and setting for much of Great Expectations. Visit St James' Church and Pip's Graves.
Chatham, his childhood home. Visit the famous Chatham Dockyards, where Dickens' father worked.
The pretty village of Cobham with the historic Leather Bottle Pub, where Dickens is said to have written The Pickwick Papers and Cobham Hall and Park which also influenced his writing.
Medieval Canterbury, which he knew well and which influenced David Copperfield. See the places which inspired Dickens including The King's School and The Crooked House.
Broadstairs and Bleak House, his holiday home overlooking the sea, where he wrote many of his works including Bleak House itself. See his study and the Smuggling Museum.
Visit the Charles Dickens Birthplace Museum in Portsmouth and see the couch upon which he died, photographs and paintings of Charles Dickens and illustrations of the characters who appear in his books.
Follow the Dickens' trail around Portsmouth, where he was born, including his homes, churches and places he gave readings. See the large Charles Dickens statue in Guildhall Square, the cemetery with graves of many people known to Dickens - including his mistress and the ladies who inspired Dora in David Copperfield and Amy in Little Dorrit. Visit the Portsmouth History Centre for a private viewing of 1500 volumes of Dickens' works, see the font used at his baptism and the site of the theatre which influenced the theatre in Nicholas Nickleby.
Overnight in a hotel used by Dickens and enjoy lunches at traditional country pubs he frequented and which appear in his novels.
